“Business In Our Town” is a WordPress.org based theme which allows to create a list of businesses (or anything else–depends on your needs) plus it comes with spare two custom post types which you can use as extra stuff for your site.

Prehistory

I was asked by municipality of one small town to create a website where owners of local businesses could advertise their enterprises and services while the townsmen could have one place on Internet where they could find easily list of all available businesses in their town. The task seemed me pretty interesting but due to certain circumstances I had to refuse the municipality’s offer and could not take this job. However, the idea sat steadily in my head and I decided to release it as a theme available on ThemeForest–I have a hope that it might be useful for such local organisations. In fact I tried to widen the borders and made it more flexible than primary task required. It means that this theme is not obligatory should be used for the listing of business only–any similar list where image, description, personal details like phone, email or whatsoever are suitable can be placed instead.
